Parents' Association
The Joffrey Academy Parents’ Association is a new effort created by the Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet with the intent of facilitating communication and exchange of ideas between the Joffrey Academy staff, students and their families. This group fosters community among students, parents and the staff and faculty of The Joffrey Ballet by encouraging communication and providing opportunities for engagement. The Parents’ Association members serve as ambassadors for The Joffrey Ballet and the Joffrey Academy by sharing enthusiasm for the organization and its programs with the broader community.
PURPOSE AND VISION
The Joffrey Academy Parents’ Association aims to create a more meaningful connection to The Joffrey Ballet by implementing events and activities that energize and educate the Joffrey Academy community while enhancing the student and family experience. The Parents’ Association is focused on supporting the mission and goals of The Joffrey Ballet while developing a sense of community.
WHAT’S NEW
Thank you for attending our field trip to the Art Institute Chicago on Sunday, March 3! The trip was educational and fun for Academy families and students.
Please join us for the next Inside the Academy discussion on Pointe and Men's classes on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm.
The next Parent's Association meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm. After this meeting, will be an Inside the Academy discussion on nutrition from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. All students with scheduled classes will attend the discussion. Please RSVP for the meeting here.
The Parents' Association is excited to announce movie night, which will be a showing of the film First Position on Friday, April 26 from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm for all current students and their families. Please RSVP for movie night here.

Inside the Academy Series
We are happy to announce the launch a new family Q&A series that will be held in conjunction with Parent Association meetings. There will be 5 discussions geared to different levels and age groups of students in the Joffrey Academy, however all levels are invited to join the discussions. Most sessions will start with a 30-minute meeting led by Academy Staff and Parents’ Association Leads to share important dates, events, and information.

A Special Invitation for Families in Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet
We understand many of these discussions are not applicable to your little ones (yet!), so we created a special opportunity for only students in Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet. Students and one family member are invited to attend the Dress Rehearsal of the Joffrey Academy’s production of Coppelia on Thursday, May 8, 2013 at 6:30pm at Joffrey Tower. Information about RSVP’s will be sent in the spring.
