#1. "The Green Table" at the Joffrey Ballet
Oct.17-28: Making everything old new again has been one of the Joffrey's strengths, reintroducing audiences to historic works. This month it mounts one of the most powerful modern ballets created, the great anti-war masterpiece "The Green Table," choreographed by Kurt Jooss. The dance is one of three in the "Human Landscapes" concert. It debuted in 1932, but its harrowing depiction of human folly remains as effective as ever. Tickets $31-$152.
