Pre-Professional Audition

Overview

General Audition Information

Please contact reception [at] joffrey [dot] org if you are interested in auditioning for the 2013-2014 Pre-Professional Division. Click here for more information about the National Audition Tour to see if The Joffrey Academy of Dance is coming to your city!

What to Bring:

  • A formal headshot with ballet hairstyle is required and must be stapled to the back of the audition form. Headshots will not be returned.
  • Body shot in first arabesque
  • Audition form


Required attire for girls:

  • pink tights
  • black leotard
  • ballet slippers
  • Girls age 12 and older who are already working en pointe must bring their pointe shoes in addition to ballet slippers

Required attire for boys:

  • white t-shirt
  • full-length black tights
  • black ballet slippers


Registration

• Pre-registration online ($30.00) is strongly recommended but not required. Those who pre-register online will need to print their audition form and bring it to the audition.

• Day-of registration ($35.00): Students may register on-site with cash or money order only. Registration on-site will begin one hour prior to your audition time (4:00 pm - 5:00 pm).
